MLB: Detroit 5, Chicago White Sox 1     (Sports News)
09/08/2010 09:14 P (EST)
Jeremy Bonderman allowed three hits and struck out eight over eight innings Wednesday, leading the Detroit Tigers to a 5-1 decision over the Chicago White Sox.

Bonderman (8-9) equaled his longest outing of the season and won for the second time in his last six appearances. He had missed a start two weeks ago because of inflammation in his rib cage.

Detroit took control with a four-run fourth inning that featured a two-run single from Brandon Inge and a two-run double by Alex Avila.

Phil Coke relieved Bonderman in the ninth and gave up a hit in a non-save situation.

The loss went to John Danks (13-10), who surrendered all five runs in six innings on eight hits. Just two of the runs were earned.
