KILLARNEY, Ireland, July 30 (UPI) -- Ross Fisher had six consecutive birdies and shot into the lead of the Irish Open Friday with a 10-under-par 61.

Fisher had consecutive birdies on Nos. 3-8 and again from the 11th hole to the 14th in building a three-stroke lead over Francesco Molinari. Fisher is at 12-under 130 after 36 holes. Molinari, who had a 6-under 29 on the front side, shot 5-under 66 for the round and is at 133 for the tournament.

Nine golfers, including Padraig Harrington, are tied for third at 7-under 135.

First-round leader David Howell fell into a tie for 24th with a 4-over 75 Friday. He is nine strokes off the lead.

Fisher opened with a pair of pars before going on the streak of six straight birdies. He had two more pars and then posted the string of four consecutive birdies. He finished with four pars.

"I got off to a steady start, a couple pars on the first two, and then the putter caught fire really. I had a nice little run," Fisher said.

"It was obviously a shame that it came to an end on nine. But I just kept on hitting good shots and got on to a little patch on the back, as well."
