EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., July 30 (UPI) -- Former New York Giants Ike Hilliard and David Tyree have re-signed with the team so they can retire from the NFL as members of the Giants.
Hilliard appeared in 98 games for the Giants from 1997-2004 and played the last four seasons with Tampa Bay. Tyree was with New York from 2003-07 and he played last season with Baltimore.
Hilliard is No. 5 on the all-time Giants list with 368 receptions. His 4,630 receiving yards rank him eighth in team history. He also scored 27 touchdowns.
Tyree, also a receiver, was known mostly as a special teams player, earning a Pro Bowl berth with a special teams designation in 2005. Perhaps his best-known moment with New York was an acrobatic catch that set up the winning score in Super Bowl XLII.
