SOUTHPORT, England, July 29 (UPI) -- Yani Tseng and Katherine Hull each had 18th-hole eagles Thursday and are tied for the lead after one round of the Women's British Open.

Tseng had two birdies to go with the eagle while Hill had three birdies and a bogey before the eagle at 18 as each shot 4-under-par 68.

Anne-Lise Caudal, Brittany Lincicome, Amy Yang and Yoo Sun-young each turned in 3-under 69s and are tied for third. Kim In-kyung and Michelle Wie are tied for seventh at 2-under.

Tseng had a birdie at No. 6 -- even though her second shot landed in a bunker -- and was still 1-under after 16 holes. She birdied the par-5 17th hole and then added the eagle at the par-5, 472-yard closing hole. She dropped a 35-foot putt for the eagle.

Hull had a bogey at No. 4 but got that back at the seventh hole. She had solid approach shots on 9 and 10 that set up short birdie putts. Hull then had seven pars before holing a 60-foot putt on the 18th hole for a 3.
